Hey, this is Dr. Aaron over at Bear Chiropractic. A lot of patients that we see dealing with what we call radiculopathy or sciatic like pain. I want to go over a couple stretches that you can do at home to help give you some relief in the meantime until you can get into an actual office to get assessed and get actual treatment for that condition.
The first one, you’re gonna take a foam roller, slide it over the affected. Buttocks region. So if it’s on my right side, you’re gonna wanna work on that, right? Bring that leg up onto the opposite knee, and from here you are just doing a little movement up and down that buttocks, and you should feel a good stretch into that region.
The next one you’re gonna want to do is get into this 90 90 position where your chest is high, over top of the knee. The leg is at 90, the back leg is at 90. From there, you’re gonna wanna reach the arm forward, bring the chest straight down over the knee, as far down as you can go. Now most patients dealing with leg pain that goes down.
I would still recommend you doing this side to side and not just on one. If after you do those stretches and you’re getting some relief, I still would recommend that you get in and get checked out because you do have nerve issues and pressure on that nerve that we wanna make sure that we get pressure off of it as soon as possible so it doesn’t become a chronic like issue.
So give us a call at Bear Chiropractic, we’d love to help you out.
