Hey everyone, I’m Dr Aaron Zimmerman from Bear Chiropractic—and today we’re talking about something that affects almost everyone these days: tech neck.

If you’re someone who spends hours at a desk, on a laptop, scrolling on your phone—or if your kids are doing the same—you’ve probably felt it. That stiffness in your neck, tight shoulders, tension headaches, maybe even tingling down the arms. That’s tech neck.

The problem is, when we look down at screens for long periods, we’re putting our neck and spine in a forward-flexed position. It’s like holding a bowling ball out in front of you for hours every day—your muscles are straining, your joints are compressed, and your spine starts to lose its natural curve.

But here’s the good news—tech neck is treatable, and even better, it’s preventable.

At our office, we focus on correcting spinal misalignments that are caused or worsened by poor posture. Chiropractic adjustments can relieve that pressure, reduce muscle tension, and improve your posture over time. We also guide you through stretches and exercises that can help counter the effects of long screen time.

And let’s be real—most of us aren’t going to ditch our devices completely. But we can support the body with proactive care, good ergonomics, and regular check-ins to make sure we’re not setting ourselves up for chronic pain later on.

If your neck feels stiff, sore, or tired from screen time—or you’re seeing those signs in your kids—it’s worth getting checked out. Give us a call, visit our site, or stop by the office in Grand Rapids. Let’s get your spine—and your posture—back in alignment.
